Supervisor Jane Kim gets cover treatment in the latest issue of KoreAm, the national magazine pitched to Korean Americans. She sits for a Q&A with San Francisco writer/editor Bernice Yeung and poses for a series of glam photos by Shane Sato. Even the makeup artist, Grace Kim, gets a credit. We’re assuming no relation. Add Kim: Yeung notes that the 33-year-old civil rights attorney and former Board of Education president and arts organizer is an “unabashed policy geek who conducts business in designer 4-inch heels and drives to appointments listening to old-school hip-hop.” As for comparisons to her District 6 predecessor, Chris Daly, there’s this: “Though she has a black belt in taekwondo, Kim’s not an aggressive shouter like her predecessor on the board; she’s poised and confident, but when it’s an issue that she cares about, she can be searing and tough.”
